KLC Ann Arbor offers comprehensive
and intensive English programs for those who are serious about improving
their English, English programs for elementary to high school students,
test preparation programs, and business English programs for business
professionals. We also design personalized English programs for
individuals and groups. Programs are offered as 4 week terms throughout
the year.
Intensive
& College Bound English Programs
Students who seriously want to improve their English would enroll in the
College Bound English Program or Intensive English Program. Classes meet
five days a week, Monday to Friday.
Part-Time
IEP
Students who wish to study English less intensively have the option of
taking part-time classes from the Intensive English Program. Classes are
two or three days a week, three hours per day.
English For
Daily Life
Students who want to be able to use English more
easily in daily life situations would benefit from this class.
Classes are one day per week on Wednesday.
English For
Daily Life - Reading & Writing
In this course, students will learn reading for daily
life (magazine articles, web pages, forms) and writing for daily life
(letters, blog entries, etc.). Classes are one day per week on
Wednesday.
Colloquial
English Program
This class focuses on conversational forms of
English, with frequent discussions of culture. Classes meet two
days per week, on Monday and Wednesday.
Business
English Program
Business professionals who would like to increase their English
proficiency for business and work would enroll in the Business English
Program. Classes are two days a week, on Tuesday and Thursday.
Test
Preparation Programs for TOEFL & TOEIC
Students who need to improve or prepare for English language proficiency
tests would enroll in the TOEFL or TOEIC programs. TOEFL classes are
four days a week, Monday to Thursday. TOEIC classes are two days a week,
Monday and Wednesday.
Elective
Classes
Students who wish to focus on specific language areas may choose from a
wide range of electives including Listening for TOEFL, Speaking for
TOEFL, Reading for TOEFL, Writing for TOEFL, Listening for TOEIC,
Reading for TOEIC, Critical Reading for SAT, and Writing for SAT.
Personalized English Program
Individuals and business executives with specific needs would enroll in
our Personalized English Program. Class content and times are designed
for each group or individual.
School
English Program
Students who need academic English skills needed in grades 1-6 of
American schools would enroll in the School English Program. Classes are
arranged by grade level and are held one day a week.
Japanese as a Heritage Language
Program JHLP is designed for children who wish to
inherit the language and culture of Japan, whether they were born in the
US or in Japan. Classes are conducted entirely in Japanese.
Basic Course in Japanese
(for children)
BCJ is designed for children in grades 1-4 who want to begin learning
Japanese. Some explanation may be done in English.
Practical Japanese Program (for
adults & teens)
This class is designed for those who wish to learn conversational and
functional Japanese and about the culture of Japan. Classes are once a
week, on Thursday.
